Hazard Communications Policy
In June 1984, the Washington State Legislature passed the Chemical Hazard Communication Standard (also called the Worker Right-To-Know law). The legislation became effective on May 26, 1986. It is defined in Washington Administrative Code (WAC 296-62-054 through –054.25) and is administered and enforced by the department of Labor & Industries. Under this law, Seattle Colleges has prepared a compliance program that will give you information and training on any hazardous chemicals you might contact in the performance of your duties.
