Finding Sample Syllabi: A Short Overview

Looking for syllabus content and/or design inspiration beyond your Department, Division, or College? In this brief module, we offer five resources for finding, previewing, and, in some instances, adapting syllabi from other educators. Click the "next" button in the lower-right side of this page to navigate through this module and access these resources. In the bulleted list below, we offer brief blurbs about each resource.

- Canvas Commons: An enormous repository of assignments, activities, pages, files, presentations, and more. By using the open search field and/or the filters, you can find an array of undergraduate syllabi to adopt or adapt.
- OER (Open Educational Resources) Commons: An enormous repository of openly licensed assignments, activities, files, presentations, open textbooks and more. By using the open search box, combined with the subject and level, you can find an additional array of undergraduate syllabi to adopt or adapt.
- SDSU Syllabus Collection: San Diego State University's repository of syllabi, spanning a variety of disciplines and academic years. Click on the tiles to preview syllabi and select the download option, if you'd like to have a digital copy.
- Syllabus Project: A gallery of creative syllabi spanning a range of different topics and disciplines. Though you can't copy or download the syllabi themselves, the syllabus of the week and the archive offer plentiful inspiration.
- Syllabus Repositories - Short List: A collection of syllabus repositories maintained by Indiana University Southeast Library. The repositories are discipline-specific, and though mostly open to the public, the Open Oregon repository may not be fully accessible.
Digital Accessibility Considerations
The syllabi in these repositories vary in their digital accessibility. Some may be fully WCAG 2.1 AA compliant Links to an external site., while others may not be. We offer a few digital accessibility resources in the Resources Module of this Canvas shell.
